Installing the .deb

1. Download the package and open it, or install it from a terminal: sudo apt install ./HopFox-VPN-0.4.3-amd64.deb
2. Start HopFox VPN from the application menu. The helper service that creates the tunnel starts with the system, so there is nothing else to set up.
3. Press Connect. Every app on the computer goes through the tunnel; press it again to disconnect.

Running the AppImage

1. Download the file, make it executable (chmod +x HopFox-VPN-0.4.3-x86_64.AppImage) and run it.
2. On the first Connect the system asks for your password once: HopFox needs it to create the tunnel. It is not stored anywhere.
3. The AppImage needs WebKitGTK 4.1 on the system (libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0), which Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora 37 and newer already have.

Requirements

• 64‑bit x86 processor (Intel or AMD).
• glibc 2.35 or newer: Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora 36, openSUSE Leap 15.6 and everything newer.
• systemd for the helper service (the AppImage works without it, through a password prompt).

Removing

sudo apt remove hopfox removes the app and the helper service; with the AppImage you simply delete the file. Your account stays: sign in again with the account number.
